In Season: October 20th through November 10th
We get our cranberries from Bandon Oregon. The acidic round red berries are grown in bogs. Bogs are specially built fields with dikes around the perimeter that allows the field to be flooded with six to eight inches of water when the berries are ripe. A special combine with a reel knocks the berry from the plant. The berries float and are then corralled to a conveyor where they are loaded into trucks to be processed.
